Today, The PVLSE invites Jack Xu, pubescent turned electronic music whiz, to introduce his identity as an emerging, ardent artist and flash some of his bewitching, carefully crafted melodies.

Back in 2016, I was one among thousands of amateur musicians who fell in love with producing electronic music through a simple IOS music application, Medly. As I progressed though middle and high school, I continually tinkered with increasingly complex musical software. Making electronic music quickly became my greatest hobby.

When I put on a pair of headphones, I enter another realm. The Jungle of digital music is comprised of endless sonic and rhythmic possibilities. As I traverse this exotic ecosystem of soundscapes, I would encounter chirping sine waves, rustling white noise, and growling basses. Under this analogy, the joy of being an electronic musician stems from manipulating and experimenting with the sonic fruits from this jungle. They slice, filter, crush, and distort different ingredients together, blending the sounds into unique sonic experiences.

Take for instance, my House music productions. They require a blend of 4-on-the-floor drumbeat, elastic melodies, and groovy basslines:
